Design History
The Design Exchange on the site of the old Toronto stock exchange held a lavish event to celebrate "The Art of Clairtone." There was a book and display exhibition by Hambly and Woolley (produced by Nina Munk and Rachel Gotlieb). Both the book & the display included our 40 year old Clairtone which we had donated to the DX in 1995, plus a Clairtone ad by Rod (Wear a Radio) from the early 70s.
It was great chatting briefly again with Peter Munk and David Gilmour. It was flattering when they said Rod was as good a designer as any they had ever used, but then added, "We have to tell you Liz, Rod was too humble."
Note: A number of the now well known former Clairtone designers were at the event.
