A Centre Spread (& a Note about John Peter)
We learned from 2nd world war propagandist, John Peter, that varying the layout page to page helps engage viewers. It helps if you can create something of a visual surprise when people turn page to page. Both with what is in the image but also varying the size and shape of the images. |

John Peter created flyers for the Allies, "dropped by the ton" over Europe, that proved more effective than German tightly "grid" structured flyers. Later he served as art director and editor for magazines including Life, Look and McCalls where he continued his engaging, hugely successful concept of design.
