And Talking of Paper - Reed Paper was One of Our (N&N) First Clients
One of our first jobs when we started Nash & Nash Ltd was photographing corrugated board in landfill sites around Toronto. This helped prove to their UK parent that the millions of dollars necessary to build a recycled linerboard mill was viable just outside Toronto. We did the billboards announcing the new mill on the empty fields. Then in 1976 we produced their Annual Report featuring the mill (front & back cover and a page SHOWN BELOW).
Before Photoshop the photography Rod took involved more preparation back then than it would now, e.g. what was the colour temperature of the lighting so he brought the lens filters to try and "correct" the colour.
Reed learned to trust us as we did them. For four decades and international mergers until the problematic Enron gained control. |

The CEO of Reed asked us to photograph their new liner-board mill and display it on the covers of their 1976 Annual Report.
Many annual reports we did had a French and an English version...so to keep costs down all type was in black only.
