1971: Another VW Line Catalogue with Different Typography...
This was designed to fit the type face Volkswagen had been using in ads in the US for some years - and had now switched to using it in collateral also.
Rod designed this catalogue with a "simple" cover idea. This cover photograph was taken from a bridge near VW Canada headquarters. Working to the layout created by Rod it was photographed by other Wolf staff, Wes Laing, assisted by Bob Lasby and Raphael Stoltz.

Note: for a cover like this a lot of preparation went into testing photographic suitability of outside locations. And we spent a lot of time testing exactly what time of day did these cars look best in photographs (there was no Photoshop). And in what weather; clouds, or evenly overcast sky, or blue sky. Also things like ensuring traffic safety at the chosen location, etc. And finally checking weather forecasts before planning to get the cars shipped to the location.
