The Abstracta System We Purchased in the 1970s Lasted for Ever ... and a Lesson Learned
We designed, shipped and set up many displays for many clients at trade shows and events across North America using abstracta. Shown here are just a few of the boxes of chrome rods and connectors etc involved.
And the lesson. We were out at the fixturing company we had hired to produce our concept of a 3 dimensional Reed symbol. We were talking to the owner and mentioned we had a problem with the cardboard boxes the abstracta came in. He showed us boxes they created for shipping. So we ordered some created specifically for our abstracta materials. For years we were able to safely ship these all over North America.
If you can, meet face to face with the people you are working with - at their facilities. Ask questions. Get a tour of the facility.
Do not rely only on phone calls, email and Facetime etc. |

One advantage with using the abstracta system is that unions at event pavilions were OK with us or our clients installing displays ourselves.
This was because e.g. no carpentry equipment was involved in the setup.
